Several people have asked what my new tattoo means… so I wanted to share 🖤
For as long as I can remember, the story of Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego in the Bible has been my favorite story. (It’s found in Daniel 3 if you’ve never read it before)
The 3 Hebrew boys are told they must worship other gods or they would be thrown into the fiery furnace. They refused to bow down to false gods & trusted that the One True God would save them. But before they were thrown into the fire, they told King Nebuchadnezzar that “EVEN IF” God didn’t rescue them, they would not worship false idols. In other words, “EVEN IF” God didn’t answer their prayers the way they wanted Him to, they would still praise Him. “EVEN IF” God’s plan looked different than their own, they would still worship Him. “EVEN IF….”
After losing our son Bryker in 2021, I had so many questions. But this story kept coming up in my heart & mind. I truly had to come to a point in my relationship with God where I could say “EVEN IF….” Until you walk through the fire, you really have no idea how you’ll respond in those moments. I had to be able to say that “even if…” I didn’t get to see my son grow up, I would still worship God. “Even if…” absolutely none of it made sense, I would still cling to Him. “Even if…” I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, I would still trust in Jesus. “Even if….” my prayers weren’t answered, I would not/will not turn my back on Him in the midst of the valley.
“Even if…” *fill in the blank*… God is still worthy to be praised.
“Even if…” doesn’t just hold significance for that time during my life, but for eternity. God is worthy. God can be trusted. Gods plan is greater than my own. He is enough.
